RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. You use RSS to syndicate or subscribe to the feed of a blog or website. This means you don’t have to visit the website to check for the latest content. Instead, you use a feed reader to read the latest articles. The feed reader collects all the latest content from your favorite sites in one place for you to read when you wish. You no longer have to go visit each site. Feed readers are a much more efficient way to stay up to date with your favorite websites.
Feed readers can either be software on your computer or web-based feed reading. To use the software, you need to be on the computer where you installed the software to check your feeds. With a web-based program, you can check your feeds anywhere you have internet access. There are lots of software programs and web-based feed readers to choose from online. I use Newsgator, and I have also tried Google Reader and Bloglines. RSSOwl is a software program, and a Google search for “RSS reader” will give you many more options.
Once you have a RSS feed reader, you just need to subscribe to the feeds of your favorite sites. For example, to subscribe to this site, you would copy and paste the link from the orange RSS button at the top right corner of the page into your feed reader (right-click and “copy link location” in Firefox). Most feed readers have an option to “Add a Feed.” All blogs have an RSS feed and many websites as well. You can even subscribe to podcast audio files.
Now that you know about RSS feeds, copy and paste the feed from the orange button into a feed reader of your choice and never miss the latest content from Spanking Storybook. Remember you can also choose to subscribe by email if you don’t want to use an RSS feed reader.
UPDATE 5/7/10: I know use only Google Reader, due to some changes at Newgator. It’s very simple to use, and I just keep a link to it on my Bookmarks Toolbar. You can also access Google Reader directly from Google Mail if you have an account there.
Most blogs now have an RSS button that you can simple click to add to the most popular RSS reader programs, including Google Reader, no copy and paste required.
This isn’t a spanking story review or a spanking story, but I had to put the word out on Thomas’s Fantasy Fridays Elections (that’s what I’m calling them). Thomas has been expanding his Fantasy Friday stories into more full length spanking stories. He just did one called Poor Service, and it was excellent.
By going to his post called Favorite Friday Fantasies, you can help him choose his next full length story. Just read through the choices he has listed, and post a comment telling him your favorite. I have to say after reading over the list of choices that Thomas is one creative guy. I really couldn’t choose one, but finally decided to just close my eyes and pick the first one that hit my eyes. (Yes, really.) I chose Room Service.

I saw the book, Big Spankable Asses
, in my local Borders. OK, I was in a hurry, but really wanted this book from the romance section. Big Spankable Asses, how could this not be about spanking? How could I resist buying it? But, this was days before Christmas, and the line was long. Standing in line with a book with that title, and the cover, well, no thank you. I’m just not that brave.
I found my husband in the magazine section, and told him about the book as we were headed for the door. He laughed at my embarrassment over the title, and decided to go back and buy the book for me. He did stand in line while I pretended I didn’t know him. The cashier was a young woman, and she just smiled – constantly – while he paid for the book.
Guess what? The book is NOT about spanking. Yes, there’s a bit of spanking in it, but I definitely would not call it a spanking story. Not even close. They even said “over the knee” on the back cover teaser, but no, no, not a spanking story.
Could you resist a title like that?

No, I’m not shopping for hairbrushes or paddles. That’s my husband’s job. I’m shopping for spanking stories. Actually, I’m trying to decide between buying some spanking ebooks or a spanking story membership. You might ask why, when I spend time reading free spanking stories online. Well, because like you, sometimes I just don’t want to spend the time to hunt around online to find one I really like.
Those of you that know me know my husband travels a lot. He’s going on several trips over the next couple of months, and really only going to be home for the holidays. So, I’d like to have a few spanking stories to keep me company. (Oh, I know I’m not the only woman that does that too.) I’ve been looking at a couple of spanking ebooks and a couple of membership sites too. Here’s my question, if I’m looking for high-quality spanking stories with some length, plot and character development, which do you recommend? Ebooks bought individually that I can read the summary and a sample chapter first? Or a membership site that would have lots of variety though I can’t be sure what stories I’ll be getting during my monthly commitment?
This is my Christmas indulgence for myself, and I’d love to hear from those of you who buy spanking stories and from readers who choose to just stick to free spanking stories. Oh, and please don’t say buy both! My husband is still working on the hairbrush and paddle shopping.
